Jose Ahedo

Jose Ahedo is the Ruth & Norman Moore Visiting Professor at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, Washington University in St. Louis, effective Fall 2024. He specializes in architecture and design, with a focus on interdisciplinary projects spanning residential design, graphic design, branding, hardware development, and user interface design.

Research Interests: Ahedo’s work explores the intersection of design with socio-ecological systems, particularly in rural contexts. His Wheelwright Prize-winning project investigated material systems and domesticity within global animal farming operations, involving fieldwork across four continents. His research emphasizes sustainability, cultural adaptation, and the ethical dimensions of design in agricultural environments.
