Jos Elfring is an Assistant Professor in the Robotics section of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on world modeling techniques, AI, automated driving, and sensor fusion. He holds an MSc and PhD from TU/e, with his PhD thesis on Semantic World Modeling for Autonomous Robots (2014). He worked in industry roles at TNO, TomTom, and others from 2014-2024, balancing part-time academia until moving to a full-time faculty role in 2024.
