Jorrit Alkema

Jorrit Alkema is a Lecturer at the Department of Organisation and Personnel Management within the Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University Rotterdam). His research focuses on goal-setting theory, leadership styles, and organizational behavior, with a particular emphasis on understanding mechanisms linking leadership approaches to follower outcomes.

Education: Completed his doctoral thesis titled Ready, set, go(al)! New Directions in Goal-Setting Research in 2022. Research interests include employee motivation, management by objectives, and the differential effects of servant vs. transformational leadership.

Publications: Authored a 2022 doctoral thesis exploring new directions in goal-setting, and co-authored a 2014 Leadership Quarterly article analyzing leadership mechanisms. His work has been cited over 300 times and widely shared on academic platforms.
