About
Prof. Joris van Slageren leads the Molecular Nanomagnets research group at the University of Stuttgart's Institute of Physical Chemistry. His team employs advanced spectroscopic techniques including terahertz spectroscopy and magnetic circular dichroism to study quantum coherence in molecular systems. Current projects focus on developing molecular qubits for quantum technologies and investigating spin-phonon relaxation mechanisms in single-molecule magnets.
The laboratory maintains state-of-the-art spectroscopy facilities and collaborates internationally on quantum materials research. Recent publications in high-impact journals demonstrate breakthroughs in understanding cobalt-based single-molecule magnets and electrochemical-EPR applications for solar batteries.
Research areas include:
- Molecular quantum bits coherence mechanisms
- Thin-film molecular magnets
- Electrical addressing of spin systems
