Jorgos Panetsos

Univ.-Prof. Mag. ArtD. Jorgos Panetsos is a Professor of Classical Guitar and Vice President of ESTA Austria at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna. Since 1999, he has held a permanent faculty position there, specializing in performance, pedagogy, and artistic research. His teaching career also includes roles at the Prayner Conservatory since 1984.

Education:

• Studied classical guitar with Andrés Paleologos at the National Conservatory of Athens
• Concert diploma from University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Prof. Luise Walker
• Masterclasses with David Russell and Oscar Ghiglia (Siena)
• Magister Artium (1998)

Research & Performance: A globally recognized concert artist with performances in 26 countries, including solo engagements with orchestras like the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. He pioneered the topic of 'Memorization through Consciousness Integration' in academic discourse, presenting at the 17th International ESTA Congress (2009). As founder and artistic director of the 'Forum Gitarre Wien' (since 1990), he has established one of Europe's leading guitar festivals.
