Jorge Prozzi

Jorge Prozzi is a Professor and Fellow of the Satish Family Endowed Professorship in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. His expertise spans Infrastructure Materials Engineering and Transportation Engineering, with a focus on pavement materials, design, and performance analysis. He holds a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley (2001) and multiple engineering degrees from institutions in Argentina, South Africa, and Spain.

Prozzi’s research emphasizes pavement durability, accelerated testing, and quantitative methods for infrastructure management. He has supervised numerous graduate students and led projects funded by agencies like the Texas Department of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Transportation. He chairs the Transportation Research Board’s International Activities Committee and contributes to committees such as the Flexible Pavement Design Subcommittee (AFD60).

His over 19 journal articles and 46 conference proceedings address topics like pavement deterioration modeling, econometric applications, and infrastructure cost analysis. Awards include a TRB Certificate of Appreciation (2007) for his leadership in international transportation research.
