Jorge Guira is an Associate Professor of Law and Finance at the University of Reading. His research focuses on sustainable finance, energy transition, and the regulatory/litigation nexus in financial and environmental matters. He holds a PhD in International Banking and Finance from Queen Mary University of London, alongside multiple advanced degrees including a JD in International Commercial Law. His career includes 30+ years as a practicing lawyer, arbitration counsel, and advisor to institutions like the IMF-World Bank Global Bank Insolvency Project. He currently leads research centers including the Centre for Commercial Law and Financial Regulation and the Program on Energy Law and Policy.
