About
Dr. Jordan Farrell is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and faculty member of the Rosamund Stone Zander Translational Neuroscience Center and F.M. Kirby Neurobiology Center at Boston Children's Hospital. His research investigates how heterogeneous cell types orchestrate synchronous network patterns for brain computations fundamental to memory, seeking to understand pathological hypersynchrony in epilepsy.
His laboratory develops cutting-edge in vivo approaches to precisely restore circuit function with minimal side effects. Current translational work focuses on developing tools to uncover mechanisms of ultrasound neuromodulation and parameter-optimized stimulation patterns for cell type-specific interventions. Dr. Farrell received NIH's K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award to study hypothalamic control of hippocampal synchrony and epileptic seizures.
