Dr. Joost van der Weide serves as a Lecturer in Social Innovation at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences since 2023, following his role as Associate Lecturer in the same field and researcher at the New Labor Relations research group in Almere.
His educational background includes a Master's degree in Business Administration from Tilburg University and a PhD from the University of Twente (2004), where his research focused on middle management leadership across public and private sectors.
Dr. van der Weide's research addresses critical societal challenges through two complementary perspectives:
- Employee-focused initiatives for inclusive work environments and sustainable labor participation, particularly for marginalized groups including young people and refugees
- Employer-focused strategies for developing learning cultures within SMEs and optimizing human capital utilization
After nearly a decade as a management consultant, he transitioned to higher professional education in 2014 to focus on practice-oriented research and teaching. He actively contributes to the HRM program curriculum, delivering modules on his specialized research topics to develop future human resource professionals.
