Jonny Blaker

Professor Jonny Blaker leads the Bio-Active Materials Group at the University of Manchester's Department of Materials Engineering. His research develops advanced biomaterials for medical applications including regenerative medicine and neural interfaces.

Research explores bioactive composites, 3D printing of tissue scaffolds, and smart materials responsive to electrical stimuli. Recent work focuses on piezoelectric polymers for bone regeneration and machine learning approaches for material property prediction.

Collaborates with Manchester Regenerative Medicine Network and holds leadership roles in the Henry Royce Institute for advanced materials research.
