Jonathon Stone

Jonathon Stone is an Associate Professor and SHARCNet Chair in Computational Biology at McMaster University's Department of Biology, and Director of the Origins Institute. He holds a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Toronto (1997), following an M.Sc. (Zoology, 1993) and B.Sc. in Physics & Biology (1991) from the same institution.

Research Interests: Integrates computational methods with evolutionary and ecological studies focusing on astrobiology, bioinformatics, and organismal adaptation. Key areas include:

• Morphological evolution in snails, sea urchins, and tardigrades
• Computational modeling of cancer growth and environmental adaptations
