Jonathon S. Kahn is a Professor of Religion at Vassar College since 2005. He holds degrees from Princeton University (AB) and Columbia University (PhD, 2003). His work bridges race studies, religious ethics, and political theory, focusing on modern secularism and African American intellectual traditions. Kahn authored *Divine Discontent: The Religious Imagination of W. E. B. Du Bois* (2009) and co-edited *Race and Secularism in America* (2016). Recent essays explore secularism’s intersections with democracy and activism. He participates in Vassar’s Engaged Pluralism Initiative and researches Howard Thurman’s legacy. Current projects include *Secularism in America* and *Black Democratic Faith: A Reconstruction*.
