About
Jonathan Wise is Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder. His research explores logarithmic geometry, deformation theory, moduli of curves, and Gromov-Witten theory using advanced geometric methods.
Current work focuses on applications of logarithmic geometry to moduli problems, including compactifications of moduli spaces and logarithmic Gromov-Witten invariants. He has developed novel techniques for studying stable maps in genus one contexts and logarithmic analogues of Abel-Jacobi sections.
Dr. Wise creates interactive visualizations of mathematical concepts including moduli spaces and Conway's topograph. His teaching includes graduate courses in algebraic geometry and homological algebra.
