Jonathan Williamson, Ph.D., is the Michael Andrew Little Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Faculty Affairs at the University of Houston's Honors College. A magna cum laude alumnus of the same institution (B.A. Political Science/Psychology, 1995), he holds advanced degrees in Political Science from Emory University. Prior to returning to UH, he chaired the Department of Political Science at Lycoming College (PA) and served 12 years on the Williamsport City Council, including leadership roles as Council President and Finance Committee Chair.
Research Focus: Williamson's interdisciplinary scholarship bridges political science, public policy, and environmental studies. His work examines shale gas development impacts on housing/infrastructure, community resilience, and policy frameworks. Secondary research streams include innovative political science pedagogy, electoral behavior analysis, and survey methodology development for educational applications.
Publications: Williamson's recent work (2010-2016) demonstrates sustained focus on energy policy impacts, with empirical studies examining housing markets, infrastructure challenges, and community dynamics in shale gas regions.
