Jonathan Wickiser, M.D., is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric oncology with a focus on kidney, liver, testicular, and ovarian tumors; cancer predisposition syndromes; and pediatric melanoma. He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2006 and serves as Oncology Director at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Medical Center Dallas.
Dr. Wickiser earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Virginia, serving as Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at UT Southwestern. He is board-certified in pediatric hematology/oncology and holds professional memberships in the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
His research interests include Wilms tumor genetics, germ cell tumors, and cancer risk stratification. He contributes to clinical guidelines and has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and case reports. He serves on the Wilms Tumor Panel and Discussion Writing Committee for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.
Dr. Wickiser has delivered invited lectures and co-authored chapters in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. His work emphasizes translational research linking genetic mutations to tumor development, particularly in microRNA dysregulation mechanisms.
