Jonathan Weiss

Dr. Jonathan A. Weiss, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at York University's Faculty of Health and a licensed Clinical Psychologist. He completed his doctoral degree at York University, a pre-doctoral internship at Surrey Place Centre (Toronto), and a post-doctoral fellowship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health's Dual Diagnosis Program, with additional fellowship training in Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Weiss's research focuses on mental health and developmental disabilities across the lifespan. He investigates service access and experiences for autistic individuals and those with intellectual disabilities, family wellness dynamics, and psychosocial intervention efficacy. His work explores Special Olympics' psychological impact and resilience-building strategies for developmental disability communities.

As director of the Developmental Disabilities and Mental Health (DDMH) Lab, Dr. Weiss leads studies including Therapeutic Photography, Autism and Sexuality research, and Mindfulness Training programs (MYmind).
