Jonathan Webb

Professor Jonathan Webb is a wildlife ecologist at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), School of Life Sciences. He holds a Professorship since 2020, previously serving as Senior Lecturer from 2012–2017. His research focuses on conservation biology, wildlife management, and behavioral ecology, with an emphasis on mitigating biodiversity declines caused by invasive species like cane toads and environmental threats such as wildfires. Webb’s work addresses endangered species recovery, predator-prey dynamics, and habitat restoration.

Education and prior roles include Senior Research Fellowships at the University of Sydney (2002–2012) and Charles Darwin University (1997–2001), where he contributed to tropical wildlife studies. He has taught field courses on wildlife biology and authored over 114 peer-reviewed publications.
