Jonathan Thomas

Jonathan Thomas is an Associate Professor in Nursing at Swansea University's School of Health and Social Care, part of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences. He holds dual roles as Programme Director for the MSc Advanced Practice in Healthcare and BSc General Practice Nursing programmes. With a background as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber, his career transitioned from clinical practice into academia, focusing on healthcare education. His expertise spans advanced clinical assessment, chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes and heart failure), and primary care nursing.

He teaches modules including clinical diagnostics, minor illness management, and long-term condition strategies, emphasizing evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
