Jonathan Terman

Jonathan Terman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He holds a B.S. in Biology from Wheaton College and Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Ohio State University. His research investigates neural connectivity mechanisms, focusing on axon guidance and cytoskeletal regulation through redox signaling pathways.

Dr. Terman's laboratory studies MICAL flavoprotein oxidoreductases that control actin cytoskeleton dynamics during neural development. Research aims to develop therapeutic strategies for neural repair after injury. Current projects examine intracellular signaling cascades that orchestrate axonal growth and target selection.

He mentors graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in molecular neuroscience techniques using Drosophila and mammalian models. Laboratory investigations combine genetic, biochemical, and cell biological approaches to characterize neural circuit assembly.
