Jonathan Schmidt

Jonathan Schmidt is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of Guelph. His research interests encompass biological control, Collembolan ecotoxicology, insect sensory and hormonal physiology, and the role of spiders in agroecosystems. With a PhD from the University of Toronto, his work bridges fundamental entomology and applied pest management solutions. He has contributed to drug discovery innovations and holds patents in computational chemistry and anticancer agents.

Dr. Schmidt's interdisciplinary approach spans molecular design, ecotoxicology, and field ecology. Current research examines arthropod-mediated ecosystem services in agricultural landscapes. His career includes leadership in nanotechnology-based pharmaceutical development and academic roles advancing environmental science education.
