Jonathan Schaefer

Jonathan Schaefer is a Professor of Continuing Education and New Teacher Induction Coordinator at Martin Luther College (MLC). He holds a PhD from Capella University, an MA in Curriculum and Assessment from Cardinal Stritch University, and a BS in Education from MLC. With 11 years of experience in teaching and administration within WELS urban elementary schools, his expertise spans curriculum design, teacher mentorship, and educational assessment.

His professional roles include coordinating the WELS New Teacher Induction (NTI) program and teaching online mentor training courses. Key areas of focus include supporting first- and second-year teachers through seminars and workshops, aligning with WELS teaching standards. He actively contributes to academic divisions such as Education and Theology, emphasizing practical ministry applications in education.

Dr. Schaefer’s work integrates theological foundations with pedagogical practices, particularly in urban educational contexts. He is affiliated with MLC’s Graduate Studies division and plays a pivotal role in the College’s mission to prepare educators for faith-based ministries.
