Jonathan Ryan

Dr. Jonathan Ryan is an Assistant Professor of Ice and Climate at Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment, leading the Ryan Lab. His research focuses on ice sheet surface processes, coastal sea ice dynamics, and satellite remote sensing (e.g., ICESat-2), with fieldwork in Greenland, Alaska, and Patagonia. He combines drones and satellite data to bridge spatial/temporal scales, addressing melt-albedo feedbacks, supraglacial hydrology, and cryospheric-climate interactions.
