Jonathan Repple

Prof. Jonathan Repple holds the Rolf M. Schwiete Endowed Professorship for Predictive Psychiatry at Goethe University Frankfurt. As Managing Senior Physician at the University Hospital Frankfurt's Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy Clinic, he leads the Predictive Psychiatry Working Group. His academic journey includes MD studies (2008-2015) and a doctorate at Westfälische Wilhelms-University Münster, followed by specialist training in psychiatry and psychotherapy completed in 2021. His research focuses on multimodal prediction of treatment outcomes in affective disorders using brain imaging and biomarkers, structural connectomics, neuromodulation efficacy optimization (ECT/TMS), and treatment-resistant depression mechanisms.

His clinical expertise includes managing chronic depression (CBASP certified since 2022), neuromodulation procedures, and translational neuroimaging studies. Key research areas involve brain connectivity alterations in depression, genetic risk associations, and biomarker development. He leads interdisciplinary projects exploring the interplay between metabolic factors and brain structure in psychiatric conditions.

Prof. Repple's work bridges clinical practice and neuroscientific innovation, with over 30 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals (e.g., Biological Psychiatry, Molecular Psychiatry). He collaborates internationally through ENIGMA consortia and leads initiatives like the Dynamic Neuroimaging in Psychiatry group. His clinical roles include teaching at academic hospitals and supervising research in translational psychiatry.
