Jonathan Lowery is the Assistant Provost for Research & Scholarship and Professor of Physiology at Marian University. He oversees research strategy, operations, and compliance while teaching musculoskeletal physiology and molecular endocrinology in the Osteopathic Medical School. His research focuses on skeletal system cell communication, bone remodeling, and osteoporosis, leading the Marian University Bone & Muscle Research Group since 2014. He holds secondary appointments at Indiana University School of Medicine and Roudebush VA Medical Center. Lowery earned his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University and completed a Harvard fellowship. He has secured over $5.75M in research funds and authored 40+ publications. Awards include the 2018 Northup Educator of the Year and Harvard's Teaching Excellence Award.
