Jonathan Kunstman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Auburn University. He holds a PhD and MS from Florida State University and a BA from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities. His research focuses on how motives, stereotypes, and social identity threats influence health and professional outcomes in inter-group settings, as well as the psychological experience of power.
His research explores social psychological approaches to stereotyping, prejudice, and stigma's effects on health and the workplace. Recent publications analyze discrimination's impact through mediation mechanisms like social pain minimization.
Dr. Kunstman chairs the EAGLEs Committee and co-facilitates diversity initiatives. He leads the INSPIRE Lab, mentoring graduate and undergraduate researchers studying intergroup dynamics.
