Jonathan Du

Dr. Jonathan Du is a Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Sydney Pharmacy School, part of the University of Sydney's Faculty of Medicine and Health. He is a member of the Centre for Drug Discovery Innovation. He completed his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2019 at the University of Sydney, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Maryland Baltimore and Emory University School of Medicine, focusing on glycobiology and enzyme mechanisms. His current research integrates structural biology techniques (mass spectrometry, X-ray crystallography, cryo-EM) to study antibody glycosylation (IgG/IgA), its role in health/disease, and applications to modulate immune responses. Key themes include cancer, cardiovascular, and diabetes research.

Research Interests: Glycosylation on antibodies, immune system modulation, structural biology tools, and drug discovery. His work bridges glycobiology with therapeutic applications, including endoglycosidase-based therapies and Fc glycoengineering.

Recent Articles: Highlight studies on mRNA-derived cyclic peptides, halogen effects on coumarin photophysics, computational design of IgG heterodimers, and human gut microbial enzymes. These contributions underscore his focus on glycobiology, structural enzymology, and translational drug design.
