Jonathan David CHASE

Jonathan David CHASE is a Full-time Assistant Professor of Computer Science (Practice) at Singapore Management University (SMU), affiliated with the College of Integrative Studies and Department of Computer Science. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Nanyang Technological University (2017) and an MEng (Hons) in Computer Science (First Class) from the University of Warwick (2011). His research focuses on AI applications, quantum optimization, urban computing, supply chain resilience, and digital transformation. He teaches courses such as AI for Social Transformation and Frontiers of Modern Computing.

His research interests span classical and quantum optimization techniques, AI-driven solutions for urban sustainability, and strategic digital transformation initiatives. Notable projects include developing intelligent frameworks for law enforcement scheduling (e.g., OFFICERS system) and optimizing cloud computing resource allocation under uncertainty.
