Jonathan Dain is a Senior Lecturer in the Tropical Conservation and Development Program at the University of Florida's Center for Latin American Studies and Director of the Natural Resources Leadership Institute. He holds a secondary appointment in the School of Forest Resources and Conservation (IFAS). With a background as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay and graduate studies in applied anthropology, he later served as Field Coordinator for the PESACRE project in the Brazilian Amazon.
His research focuses on:
- Resolving natural resource conflicts through mediation and collaborative governance
- Designing training programs for sustainable resource management
- Integrating conservation strategies with community development
Dain was recognized as a Faculty Fellow of the Florida Climate Institute for his contributions to environmental leadership. He directs the Florida Natural Resources Leadership Institute, develops graduate training initiatives at the Center for Latin American Studies, and maintains partnerships with Latin American organizations through summer fieldwork.
