Education:
- BSc in Exercise Science
- Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary Education
- PhD in Biochemistry of Exercise (Griffith University)
Research Interests: His work spans substrate utilisation during exercise, muscle glycogen dynamics, ergogenic aids, and sleep’s impact on athletic performance. He pioneered methods like dot-blot analysis and electron microscopy for glycogen study, and has published meta-analyses on sleep deprivation’s effects.
Teaching & Grants: He secured a £27,000 grant (2021) from the Queensland Academy of Sport to study evening exercise and glycogen replenishment. His teaching emphasizes practical skills in metabolic assessments, anthropometry, and clinical exercise protocols.
Labs/Teams: His lab work includes hands-on training in cardiovascular physiology, indirect calorimetry, and pulmonary function testing.
