Jonathan Calof

Dr. Jonathan Calof is a Full Professor of International Business and Strategy at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa, and serves as the UNESCO co-chair on anticipatory systems for innovation and venture creation. He holds honorary positions at institutions worldwide, including Honorary Professor at Yunnan Normal University and Leading Research Fellow at the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics and Knowledge in Moscow. His expertise spans competitive intelligence, foresight, and business analytics, with a focus on developing anticipatory systems for organizational innovation.

Dr. Calof holds a B.A. from Carleton University, an M.B.A., and a Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario. His research explores anticipatory systems, competitive intelligence applications, and innovation management. He has authored over 200 publications, including books like Gaining Market Insights from Events, and contributes regularly to journals like Journal of Intelligence Studies in Business and Competitive Intelligence Magazine.

His awards include Frost and Sullivan’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Competitive Intelligence and SCIP’s Fellow’s and Distinguished Member awards. He advises companies and government agencies globally and chairs the Pearson Center’s Economy for Tomorrow program, addressing future policy challenges. His work emphasizes leveraging foresight and data analytics to drive strategic decisions in volatile markets.
