Jonas Ritter

Jonas Ritter is a researcher in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU). He is affiliated with the Chair for Materials Simulation and focuses on computational modeling of material deformation and failure mechanisms.

His research interests include multiscale modeling, peridynamics, and the mechanical behavior of polarous and brittle materials. He has contributed to studies on dislocation dynamics, strain rate effects, and microstructural controls on material failure.

Ritter’s recent publications highlight applications of peridynamic simulations to analyze compressive failure in snow microstructures and deformation in porous materials. His work integrates gradient elasticity and surface correction methods for improved material modeling.
