About
Jonas Burman is a PhD student in the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences at Linköping University, conducting research under the supervision of Linda Bojmar. His work focuses on molecular mechanisms influencing radiotherapy response in cancer patients, utilizing bioinformatics and experimental assays. He is affiliated with the Bojmar Lab, which studies organ crosstalk in cancer progression, particularly gastrointestinal cancers and hepatic metastasis. Burman holds a Master's degree from the Experimental and Medical Biosciences program at LiU.
He is currently on an international exchange at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York to learn advanced techniques like Imaging Mass Cytometry. His research has contributed to high-impact studies in Nature Medicine and Frontiers in Immunology. Funded by grants including the Swedish Society for Medical Research (SSMF) and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, he explores metastasis prediction, immunoglobulin genetics, and drug sensitivity in cancer therapy.
Burman’s training combines laboratory work with clinical relevance, aiming to bridge basic science and translational oncology. His studies on extracellular vesicles and tumor microenvironment dynamics reflect his interdisciplinary approach to understanding metastasis and treatment efficacy.
