Jon Smith

Jon Smith is a Professor in the Department of English at Simon Fraser University, specializing in U.S. Southern studies through postcolonial and cultural frameworks. He holds a BA from Yale and MA/MEd/PhD from the University of Virginia. His research examines Southern literary traditions, postcolonial theory, and global cultural intersections.

Teaching focuses on American literatures, literature and race, and cultural geography. Recent courses include ENGL 345 (American Literatures) and ENGL 411W (Seminar in Literature and Race).
