Jon Smart

Jon Smart is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Wake Forest University, specializing in Writing (EAL). He holds a PhD from Northern Arizona University, an MA-TESL from Northern Arizona University, and both MA and BA degrees from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

His research focuses on Second Language Writing, Corpus Linguistics, and Data-Driven Learning, exploring innovative methodologies for language instruction and assessment. Recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on international student experiences, language proficiency assessment, and pedagogical applications of linguistic corpora across education and psychology domains.
