Jon Olaf Olaussen

Jon Olaf Olaussen is a Professor and Vice Dean of Research at the NTNU Business School, Faculty of Economics and Management at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). He chairs the NTNU Center for Real Estate and Environmental Economics, focusing on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of environmental, natural resource, and real estate economics. His work bridges bioeconomics, policy analysis, and market dynamics, with a strong emphasis on sustainable resource management.

His research areas include bioeconomics, natural resource economics, environmental economics, microeconomics, and real estate economics. Notable projects explore salmon farming regulations, angler behavior, and real estate valuation influenced by energy performance certificates. He teaches courses such as Microeconomics, Research Methods, Fishery Economics, and Real Estate Valuation and Sustainability.
