Jon Meyer

Jon Meyer serves as a Researcher and PhD student at the Chair of Digital Transformation within the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics, and Business Administration at the University of Bamberg. He teaches courses on digital platform governance, technology governance, and material infrastructures of digital transformation.

His academic background includes studies in Philosophy, Environmental Sciences, and Political Science.

Meyer's research centers on digital governance and platformisation, with a specific focus on the regulation of artificial intelligence in Europe. His work analyzes the practical implications of the EU AI Act for German companies, covering negotiation processes, implementation strategies, and governance models for AI systems. He also investigates the role of material infrastructures in digital transformation and the political-economic consequences of data-driven technologies, particularly in digital farming.

As part of Prof. Dr. Andreas Jungherr's research team at the Chair of Digital Transformation, Meyer contributes to studies examining societal and political dimensions of digital technologies.
