Jon Mandracchia

Jon Mandracchia is a Professor of Psychology and Director of the MSCP (Master of Science in Counseling Psychology) program at Avila University, where he began his tenure in the current academic year. He is a licensed psychologist in Missouri and Mississippi with professional experience in counseling services and criminal forensic evaluations, including competency-to-stand-trial assessments.

Dr. Mandracchia's research focuses on suicide prevention within offender populations and the analysis of criminogenic thinking—maladaptive cognitive patterns that perpetuate criminal behavior. His work integrates forensic and counseling psychology to develop mental health interventions for criminal justice settings.

He teaches undergraduate courses including General Psychology and graduate courses such as The Helping Relationship, Theories of Counseling, and Individual Intelligence Assessment.
