Jon Lim

Jon Lim is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Division of Cancer Sciences at The University of Manchester's Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. He is actively engaged in cancer immunology research with a focus on dendritic cells and T cell responses in tumor immunity. Dr. Lim maintains dual roles in academic research and clinical practice through his honorary consultant position at The Christie Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he specializes in Advanced Immunotherapy & Cell Therapy.

His work explores dendritic cell biology, tumor antigen presentation to T cells, mechanisms of immunogenic cell death, and the development of novel cancer vaccines and cell therapies. He also investigates physician well-being and resilience in oncology practice, addressing burnout and workplace health challenges during crises like the pandemic.

His recent publications demonstrate a dual research trajectory: fundamental immunology work on dendritic cell biology and spatial organization of immune cells in tumors, alongside practical research on improving well-being among oncology professionals. This combination of basic science and healthcare systems research positions him uniquely at the intersection of laboratory discovery and clinical implementation.
