Jon Gregory

Jon Gregory is Associate Professor in Landscape History & Engagement at the School of History and Art History, University of East Anglia (UEA). He completed his PhD at UEA in 2008 and returned as a lecturer in 2010. His work integrates teaching, research, and public engagement with a focus on historical landscapes, GIS applications, and rural heritage.

His research interests include the long-term development of marginal and rural landscapes, the concept of landscape improvement in the 18th and 19th centuries, and the use of digital mapping in landscape history. He has taught a range of modules such as The Origins of the English Landscape, The Making of the English Landscape, and GIS for Landscape History at both undergraduate and MA levels.
