Professor Jon Gibbins is a faculty member at the University of Sheffield within the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering. He serves as the Centre Director of the UK Carbon Capture and Storage Research Centre and is a Research Area Champion for Solvent Post-Combustion. With over 30 years of experience in coal/biomass gasification and CCS since 2002, his work spans academic, industrial, and policy domains. He contributes to global CCS initiatives, including the SaskPower CCS Global Consortium Advisory Committee, and advises on energy system balancing, economics, and regulation.
