John W. Budd

John W. Budd is a Professor at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, holding the Industrial Relations Land Grant Chair. He serves as President of the Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA) and Secretary-Treasurer of the North Star LERA local chapter. A Princeton PhD in Economics, his career spans teaching, research, and leadership roles at the University of Minnesota, including department chair and director positions.

Scientific honors include the Richard A. Lester Prize, Melvin Lurie Labor-Management Cooperation Prize, and multiple LERA accolades. He has served on editorial boards for leading journals and received 12 Distinguished Teaching Awards at the University of Minnesota.
