John Tichy

John Tichy is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Nuclear Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he has served since 1976. His research focuses on tribology, non-Newtonian fluid dynamics, and applications in MEMS and biomedical engineering.

Key research areas include:

• Biomedical applications (hip joint replacement, aortic hemodynamics)

He is also affiliated with the Center for Modeling, Simulation and Imaging in Medicine (CEMSIM) and has contributed to editorial leadership as former Technical Editor of the ASME Journal of Tribology.
