John Sullivan

John Sullivan, Ph.D., is a Teaching Professor and Undergraduate Director at the School of Information, part of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Florida. He has been teaching since 1997 and earned his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Bradford, England in 2007. Prior to academia, he held roles as a systems analyst, project manager, and founded True North Information Systems. At USF, he has excelled in undergraduate education, winning the 2016 Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award and leading the Undergraduate Information Science program since 2019.

His research focuses on organizational learning, ERP systems reliability, and high reliability organizations (HROs). Key contributions include frameworks for ERP project implementation, operational reliability modeling, and analyzing organizational learning in HROs. Sullivan’s work bridges theory and practice, addressing challenges in enterprise systems, healthcare reliability, and project management.
