John Schaeffer

John Schaeffer serves as Adjunct Instructor of Computer Science at Connecticut College while concurrently holding administrative leadership as Director of Networks, Servers, and Security and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). With over twenty-five years of continuous service at the institution, he began his career at the college as email administrator.

His academic credentials include:

• B.S. in Computer Science from University of New Haven
• Masters Degree in Management Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology

Specializing in Networking and Cybersecurity, Schaeffer teaches Introduction to Cybersecurity and Computer Networks courses. His professional foundation includes IT firm experience supporting local small businesses and U.S. Navy contract work administering submarine Unix workstations, directly informing his current security leadership and instructional approach.
