John S. Parks is a Professor in the School of Medicine at Wake Forest University. He holds appointments in the Departments of Molecular Medicine and Biochemistry, and is affiliated with the Sticht Center for Healthy Aging and Alzheimer’s Prevention, Center for Precision Medicine, Cardiovascular Sciences Center, Center for Diabetes Obesity and Metabolism, Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Center for Redox Biology and Medicine.
His research focuses on cholesterol metabolism, HDL function, lipid metabolism, and their roles in chronic diseases such as fatty liver disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes. He explores molecular mechanisms in atherosclerosis and uses pre-clinical models to study metabolic disorders.
