John S. Delaney

John S. Delaney is a faculty member at Augustana, serving as chair of the Accounting Department. His career bridges academia and industry, with extensive expertise in ethics, fraud investigation, and auditing.

Dr. Delaney’s research focuses on ethics, fraud investigation, and auditing, informed by 17 years of practical experience in business accounting and audit roles. His work addresses the intersection of professional integrity and financial accountability.

He was recognized as the Illinois CPA Society Outstanding Educator (2014), reflecting his contributions to accounting pedagogy.

Prior to Augustana, he held administrative and teaching roles at St. Ambrose University and Loras College, alongside professional certifications as a C.P.A., C.M.A., and C.I.A. in Illinois.
