John Roberts

John Roberts is the John H. Scully Professor of Economics, Emeritus at Stanford Graduate School of Business. He holds a PhD from University of Minnesota and honorary doctorate from University of Winnipeg.

His research focuses on:

• Application of economic theory to management problems
• Organizational design and incentive structures
• Industrial competition with information asymmetries
• Multinational business strategy

He has authored influential books including 'The Modern Firm: Organizational Design for Performance and Growth,' named Economist's Best Business Book. Professor Roberts has conducted randomized controlled experiments on management practices in large firms and consulted for corporations worldwide.

Honors include:

• Fellowship in the American Academy of Arts and Sciences
