John Reich

John Reich serves as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Graduate School of Education at California Lutheran University since 2011. Additionally, since January 2021, he has been working with the Ventura County Office of Education as a Professional Development Provider in the Induction program, supporting beginning teachers who have not passed the edTPA.

Reich's professional expertise centers on teacher education and educational assessment. With 38 years of experience as a high school teacher in the Las Virgenes Unified School District (1972-2010), where he taught History, English Language Arts, and Journalism and held leadership roles including Department Chair and Athletic Director, he brings extensive practical knowledge to teacher preparation. His current work involves supervising Single Subject teacher candidates, teaching courses in educator development, and serving as Lead TPA Assessor for both CalTPA and edTPA, emphasizing performance-based evaluation systems.

In his advisory capacity, Reich mentors teacher candidates at California Lutheran University and provides targeted professional development for novice teachers in Ventura County's Induction program. His focus on improving teacher competency through structured assessment frameworks and induction support highlights his commitment to strengthening K-12 educational outcomes, particularly for educators navigating certification requirements.
