John Rasmussen

John Rasmussen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts: Film & Photographic Arts at Champlain College, within the Division of Communication & Creative Media. He specializes in narrative, documentary, and experimental filmmaking, with a focus on global cinema. His work spans international collaborations, including projects for organizations like Oxfam and the United Nations, as well as grassroots initiatives in the U.S., Haiti, and Italy. His films have been showcased in festivals across Mexico, Haiti, France, Canada, China, and the U.S.

Educated at the University of Miami (MFA) and the University of Iowa (BA), Rasmussen’s expertise includes Film Production, Directing, and Cinematography. He is affiliated with the University Film and Video Association and actively contributes to the field through his creative and academic work.
