John R Leafgren

John R Leafgren is a Professor and Department Head at the University of Arizona. He holds a Ph.D. in Slavic Linguistics from the University of Virginia (1992). His research focuses on contemporary Bulgarian syntax and information structure, with a notable publication on the structural packaging of Bulgarian linguistic elements. He teaches Russian linguistics courses, including phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and the historical development of the Russian language.

His scholarly work emphasizes syntactic analysis within Slavic languages, particularly Bulgarian, with a monograph published by John Benjamins in 2002.
